Sabtang Island is not just an experience but an adventure, Sabtang is an island municipality situated at 15 kilometers southwest of Basco. It is reached by a 25-30 minutes ride from Basco to San Vicente Port or Radiwan Port in Ivana in a motorized Banca. At first, I’m a bit scared because of a small banca or locally called “faluwa” and a 30 minutes ride going to the Sabtang Island, early morning ride and I heard a lot of stories that Batanes is known to have a strong waves, but I close my eyes and pray to be safe ride and to see the adventurous place of sabtang island.

I know how to surf but I’m not a good swimmer, some of the passengers already close their eyes during the first waves hit us, I kept myself calm but too nervous and I tightly hold the hand of my husband, the waves were dancing as we travelled from Ivana to Sabtang, luckily we reached and safely arrive in Sabtang island.

Batanes is a breath-taking. A visually charming, a postcard-worthy, and the genuine hospitality of the native people, the Ivatans, the honesty place I’ve ever experienced in my life, the zero crime rate, the tourist friendly place. Batanes is a very moody, a fragile, you need to balance her which day to explore, she’s changing moods, sometimes calm and too sunny, sometimes you’ll be facing the biggest typhoon if your timing is not right.
