The Boulder Beach

The wind is whistling, the sun shine kissed us for a good vibes that day we visited, a calm weather and a beautiful sunny day! Boulders fill the jagged eastern edge of Batan Island, the sea slapping the shore, tweet of the birds and sounds of the waves are simply beautiful, The Valugan Beach is absolutely unique to the beach I’ve been too, a bit risky and difficult going around but this simply beautiful Valugan Boulder Beach are located in northern part of Batanes, Philippines.

This place is locally known as Chanpan, but is popularly known as Valugan, which means East.

These Boulders are said to be evidences of geologic forces from the volcanic eruptions of Mt. Iraya. This stretch of boulders and gravels, smooth over time by the strong waves of the West Philippine sea and Pacific ocean, is a habitat to a variety of marine crustaceans.

The Valugan Boulder Beach is has been a subject of a number of award-winning national photography contests. but take note I’m not a professional photographer I’m just a hobbyist who loves to share our travel experienced.
