A Quick Break To Alexandria-Egypt
The Pearl of the Mediterranean as they called to Alexandria, Egypt. The second largest city in Egypt and the greatest summer resort in the middle east. Located on the Mediterranean sea cost to the north west of delta. Alexandria has an atmosphere that is more Mediterranean than middle eastern, its ambiance and cultural heritage distance it from the rest of the country although it is only 225 km. from Cairo.
Downtown stretches from Saad Zaghloul Square, to the seafront, where there is a statue of Saad Pasha. This was formerly the site of the Caesareum, a magnificent temple built by Cleopatra for her lover Marc Anthony and subsequently completed by their enemy Octavius.

Alexandria New Library, according to the history as I’ve researched, the old Alexandria library established for 2300 years ago in the Ptolemaic era during the reign of Ptolemy Filadlfos. The library as a cultural and intellectual complex for all scientists and a source of knowledge to the Mediterranean region. Now, the old Alexandria library renewed by establishing the new Alexandria Library to be one of the biggest scientific and cultural centers specialized in the region affairs and its culture, science and arts to attract scientist from all over the world to Alexandria as a world center for culture and knowledge.
The New Alexandria Library located at Shatby district, it includes: The central library, Youth library, Library for the blind, Planetarium, Science museum, Scripts museum, Antiquities museum, The international institute for information studies, Conference center and its Services.
Here are some of my photo’s outside the library:
We had a Falafel, hummus, egg and pickle, it was a lovely food especially falafel, soon I will share my version of falafel recipes once I have time again.
By 7 o’clock in the evening, we catch the train going to Cairo, Egypt. Since I don’t have nice photos of the real train here’s the picture of the train from Alexandria going to Cairo, Egypt. An old train but very cold inside, and the weather outside as well are freezing cold!! For the couple of hours we had a nap and we reached Cairo, Egypt.
We reached Cairo, we had a walk again and asked if were is the location of Fairmont Hotel, Nile City, Suddenly, a bit far from the train station so no choice we take taxi going to our hotel.
