Georgia: A Glimpse to Tbilisi

Tbilisi is one of the biggest city of Georgia. I bet all of you still confused where is Georgia located? As I’ve written in my first blog about Georgia, “The Great Caucasus Mountains of Georgia” is located on the crossroad of Europe and Asia, and it lays at the eastern end of the Black Sea, Turkey and Armenia to the south, Azerbaijan to the east, and Russia to the north.

Tbilisi is a mixed of everything, A simply beautiful, an old and new city, a luxury and down to cheapest thing, a soviet style and a history behind it.

Tbilisi is surrounded with vertical cliff walls that provide an excellent view over the whole city, the houses with balconies stick out from the edges of the cliffs, the city is safe to explore, but of course be smart all the time, the people of Georgia is very kind and friendly, though most of them not to speak in English but all of them are nice, I noticed only tour guide and students are very good to speak in English more than us 😉

Narikala fortress is a stunning view in the night, the view of the city of lights, narikala builds on top of the hill, its perfectly for the city view, just try the cable car it cost only 1.50 lari up to 2 lari, buy a card and every time you ride the cable car just reload the card, my husband and I everyday we visited the view of the city at night and a day, and get something to eat, though they said its perfect to check in the center of the city the Rustaveli Avenue and Freedom square.

The Bridge of Peace is a very unique because of the shape on it, it lays in the kura river, has a curvy steel and a canopy top which shimmers with an interactive lights display at night.

The Holy Trinity Cathedral or Sameba is one of the tallest eastern orthodox cathedrals in the world, the cathedral complex includes an underground section and integrates nine chapels, we visit this church by walk, though we lost a bit but when we reached this place we simply wish and pray. to those woman who visited the church, just make sure bring your long skirt and scarves to cover your hair, and thanks to GIO who send message to us to remind if we visit this place bring skirt and scarves, but since I don’t have that time, I have a very long shawl to cover my legs and ends with a skirt 😉 and a small scarves in my head, walla survive! 😉

A glimpse to the city of Tbilisi is a simple yet its wander, my husband and I we explore the city without a guide, our hotel to stay is located in the city of Tbilisi, by walk to explore everything, every time we reached hotel after the long trip of out of town in Georgia, we never waste our time to see the beautiful view at night of the city, and not to miss the traditional food, of course as a chef, we need too explore food as well, and during our last day in Tbilisi Georgia, early morning by 5am we prepare ourselves to see the morning view of the city, at 6am we explore the city, its raining that time, a very cold, but since we packed our things, and I am lazy to bring jacket 😉 but we barrowed umbrella to the hotel we stay, then start to explore, at 10am we reached hotel, we had breakfast and prepare again to catch our flight by 12 in the afternoon, though the airport is 10 to 15min way from our hotel.
